Each answer is explained, and then the word’s card opens with its pronunciation, definition and two examples, and joins your word list on this device. A new word arrives every day at the same moment worldwide, shown in your own time, and finishing keeps your streak going.
How to play Word of the Day There is one word a day, the same for everyone. The quiz asks three questions about it, always in this order: its meaning, a sentence that uses it correctly, and a word that means nearly the same. Some days the third question asks for the opposite instead, and says so. Choose an answer, then press Check answer. Your answer stands: the game shows the right one and explains it. Each right answer scores a point, from 0 to 3. Every finished quiz counts for your streak; there is no losing. After the third question the word card opens: the word, how to say it, what it means and two examples. It stays in your word list on this device. There is no clock. One quiz a day: a new word arrives at the start of each day in UTC, shown in your own time. Pig : Roll one die as often as you dare, but a 1 wipes out your turn. First to bank 100 wins. Pipe Link : Join numbered garden valves and fill every tile without crossing pipes.
