About FreeCell

FreeCell Solitaire deals the whole deck face up into eight cascades, so nothing is left to luck: every deal is a puzzle of planning, and almost all of them can be won. Use four free cells to park cards while you dig out the aces, build down in alternating colors, and move runs of cards in one go when you have the space. Replay any deal by its number and try to solve it in fewer moves.

How to play FreeCell

  1. Move all 52 cards to the four foundations, one suit each, from ace to king.
  2. On the cascades, put a card on one rank higher of the other color: a red 6 on a black 7. Any card can go into an empty cascade.
  3. Each free cell holds one card. Park a card there and bring it back later.
  4. You can move a run of cards together when there is room: (empty free cells + 1) × 2 for each empty cascade.
  5. Cards on a foundation stay there. Undo as often as you like, and ask for a hint when you are stuck.
