About Nonogram

Nonogram is a picture logic puzzle for one player. Numbers beside each row and above each column list the runs of filled squares in that line, in order. Work out which squares to fill, one line at a time, and a picture appears. Every puzzle is generated fresh, has exactly one solution and can be solved by reasoning alone, without guessing. Choose a 5 × 5, 10 × 10, 15 × 15 or 20 × 20 grid.

How to play Nonogram

  1. Each number beside a row or above a column is the length of a run of filled squares in that line, in order: left to right for a row, top to bottom for a column.
  2. Runs in the same line are separated by at least one empty square. A clue of 0 means the whole line is empty.
  3. Fill the squares you are sure belong to the picture. Mark a square with an X when you are sure it is empty; marks are only notes for yourself.
  4. You win as soon as the filled squares match every clue. Blank squares and X marks left over don’t matter.
  5. A check shows any filled square that should be empty and any X on a square that should be filled. It is optional help, noted in your result.
