About Klondike

Klondike Solitaire is the patience most people simply call solitaire. Seven columns are dealt with only their last cards face up, and the rest of the deck waits in the stock. Build down in alternating colors, turn cards over, and move every card to four foundations, ace to king, one suit each. Draw one card or three, choose how many passes through the stock you allow, play for standard or Challenge points, and replay any deal by its number.

How to play Klondike

  1. Build each foundation in one suit from ace to king. Move all 52 cards there to win.
  2. On the columns, put a card on one rank higher of the other color: a red 6 on a black 7. Move a run of such cards together.
  3. Only a king, or a run headed by a king, goes into an empty column.
  4. A face-down card at the end of a column turns face up when you uncover it.
  5. Take one card from the stock (or three, in draw-3). When the stock is empty, turn the waste over to go through it again, as often as your settings allow.
  6. Undo as often as you like. A hint shows a move when you are stuck.
