Computer players Yes About War War is the simplest card game there is, and one of the first many children learn. The deck is split in two, and each round both players flip their top card: the higher card wins both. When the cards tie, it is a war: each player puts three cards face down and one face up, and the higher face-up card takes the whole pile. Win every card to win the game. Play the computer, share one device with a friend, or open a table online. Turn on auto-flip and watch the cards race.
How to play War The deck is shuffled and dealt into two face-down piles of 26 cards. Nobody sees the order of any pile, not even their own. Each round, both players flip the top card of their pile. The higher rank wins both cards, aces high. Suits never matter. The winner puts the cards they won under their pile, in a shuffled order. If the two cards tie, it is a war: each player puts three cards face down and one face up. The higher face-up card wins every card on the table. Another tie means another war. A player short of cards for a war puts all but their last card face down and plays the last one face up. A player with no card to flip loses. Win all 52 cards to win. A game also stops after 500 rounds (100 in a quick game), and then whoever holds more cards wins.
