About Circuit ’84

Circuit ’84 puts you at a green-screen terminal inside a rogue mainframe. Move along safe borders, then trace into unsecured memory and reconnect to claim the area without the virus. Fast traces earn 2 points per cell; riskier slow traces earn 10. Border sweepers patrol the edges, and a stall fuse chases any trace that stops progressing. Secure 75% of each of 12 levels. Choose Standard pace with three lives or Relaxed pace with five, and play with keyboard or on-screen controls. Sound is optional.

How to play Circuit ’84

  1. Move on borders. Hold Space for a fast trace or Shift for a slow trace, then steer into unsecured memory. On-screen trace selectors work with the direction pad.
  2. Reconnect to a border to secure every separated region that does not contain the virus. The trace itself contributes no area.
  3. Fast captures earn 2 points per cell; slow captures earn 10. Reach 75% to clear a level and earn 500 points plus 100 for each whole percentage point above the target.
  4. A virus touching your cursor or unfinished trace costs a life. Sweepers can catch you on the border. A stall fuse starts when a trace stops progressing; move again to reset it.
  5. Lost lives erase only the unfinished trace. Secured area and score remain. Clear all 12 levels before you run out of lives; Pause freezes everything.
